How is the National Lottery funded?

The current operator of the National Lottery is Camelot. The Community Fund is the largest of the Lottery distributors, with an income of about £600 million a year. The Fund is responsible for distributing 40% of funds raised for "good causes" (roughly 23 pence of every £2 spent on a Lottery ticket).
